Bays, oysters and seasonal opportunities
Matlacha offers seasonal opportunities for winter trout fishing and redfish around the Indian Fields. These are examples of how the fishing focus changes through the year. Discuss what is available for your dates rather than planning around a guaranteed catch.
An inshore day with a local guide
Matlacha offers a different setting from a dedicated beach or pass tarpon trip. For anglers interested in the backcountry, talk with Capt. Andy about redfish, snook and other seasonal inshore options, along with the techniques suited to your experience.
Guided charter options
Capt. Andy specializes in tarpon fishing around Boca Grande, Charlotte Harbor and surrounding waters. From April through October, he fishes exclusively for tarpon. These trips book early; contact him ahead of your preferred dates. Ask about other species outside those months.
Choose a 6-hour AM or PM trip, an 8-hour trip or a 10-hour trip. See the published trip rates for 1–3 anglers; a fourth angler is an additional $200 per trip. Maximum four anglers per boat.
